The CHAMPS Pakistan team focus is not only to collect the childhood mortality data but to understand the real reasons and scenarios for cause of death among Pakistani children. Community based mortality surveillance through specially designed vans enables us to capture deaths occurring both at home or hospital, hence provides precise and evidence-based cause of death. However, this required embedding the surveillance within the communities through stringent liaison and engagement with multiple stakeholders and partnerships with health and government stake holders. Our mission is to transform critical mortality data to save lives and strengthen child health strategies to give each child equal opportunity.
